Extreme North

We go to extraordinary lengths to make films that give audiences the feeling of actually being in some of the most far out places on earth, and coming face to face with magnificent wildlife. Whether diving under the ice, mounting cameras on everything from airplane wings to dogsleds, or just staying up all night in Arctic weather to get the shot, we do it. Here are our filmmakers at work.

Shooting in the Circle

Brad Ohlund, IMAX Cinematographer: "Giant screen filmmaking provides an opportunity to transport audiences in a nearly life-like manner. No other format does this as effectively. This does present us with unique and difficult challenges, but in the end, they are as much fun to make as they are to watch."
